Literature Text

I find it hard to breathe as you tower over me.
I begin to crack under the pressure
And I scream at my suppressor

They say perfection is what we should aim for.
Being acclaimed for what we have done,
Mindlessly, never really living.
They're never truly forgiving.
As you fall,
They'll point and laugh.
Then you begin to feel so small.

The heart that once burned for their passions
Became nothing but ashes.
They'll never understand
What I withstand.
No, they'll never understand.

She sits alone at night crying,
Trying to understand her plight.
They screamed at her dreadful things.
Every word is another scar on her wrist
As she clings to the knife in her hand.

The heart that once aspired to be what they wanted
Turned to nothing but ashes.
She screamed and screamed
For them to simply understand.
But they'll never understand;
They'll never truely care.

He's lying in his bed,
Trying to fight the demons in his head.
Trying to distract,
He can no longer hold back.
He sang his heart out,
Making music to cope.
Drowning out their demeaning words,
He screams for meaning.

His heart had once beat for them.
He won't let their passions turn his heart to ashes.
He turned away,
Hoping to to live, starting today

Hearts burst,
Hearts turn to ashes.
We can still resist this,
Existing with purpose.
They can keep the last of us.
A little song/poem I made. I dont know if I'll actually make it a song, since I dont even know where to begin as far as that goes... If anyone wants to leave tips, constructive criticism, etc., please do!
